Uzi Vert’s rapping skills were noticed by Don Cannon, who heard one of Uzi’s songs being played on the radio by DJ Diamond Kuts. Uzi later signed a record deal with DJ Drama, Don Cannon and Leighton Morrison’s record label Generation Now and Atlantic Records. Uzi gained attention after being featured on Carnage‘s single “WDYW” with ASAP Ferg and Rich The Kid in 2015.
Uzi then released his third mixtape Luv Is Rage on December 18, 2015, with productions from Don Cannon, FKi, Sonny Digital, TM88, DP Beats, Maaly Raw and more, and guest features from Wiz Khalifa and Young Thug. On April 15, 2016, Uzi released his fourth mixtape Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World with production from Don Cannon, Metro Boomin, WondaGurl, M-TRAX, Smatt Sertified and more, with the cover art designed by Fvrris.[5] He was named as one of the ten 2016 XXL Freshmen on June 13, 2016.[6] On July 31, 2016, Uzi released his fifth mixtape The Perfect Luv Tape on his 22nd birthday. Similar to his other albums, this one features many famous rappers such as Future in his song “Seven Million.”
Uzi collaborated with the rap group Migos in October 2016 on the single “Bad and Boujee” which in January 2017 reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Uzi Vert’s first number one single as a featured artist and his highest charting single.
Drake
Musician / Bands 09 May 17 0
Aubrey Drake Graham is part of a generation of new rappers, along with Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi and others, who came up through internet mixtapes. Drizzy put out three mixtapes from 2006 to 2009. These mixtapes got him the attention of Lil Wayne, and spawned the hit singles “Forever” and “Best I Ever Had,” the latter coming from his critically acclaimed mixtape So Far Gone. During this period, Drake also made a slew of guest appearances on tracks by artists from DJ Khaled to Jay-Z.
After years without a record deal, Drake finally signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment label in 2009. And in 2010, Drake released his debut album Thank Me Later. His second album, Take Care, dropped in November 2011 and ultimately led to celebration with his crew for earning his first Grammy Award (for Best Rap Album). The album has been certified 4x platinum as of March 29, 2016. His third project, Nothing Was The Same, was released September 24th, 2013. Two years later on February 12, 2015, Drake released If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Just months after that, he released a collaborative mixtape with American rapper Future, called What A Time To Be Alive. His fourth studio album, Views, was released on April 29, 2016.
Following the release of Views, Drake announced the release of his new Mixtape – More Life on OVOSOUND Radio.
Drizzy has also been involved in many beefs, including ones with Common and Tyga. His most eventful beef was with Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill. This started the whole conspiracy over “Drake has a ghost writer.” Drake fired back immediately with “Charged Up” and with no response from Meek, he dropped another diss track four days later titled “Back to Back.” Meek then released his diss track titled “Wanna Know.” There was no declared “winner,” but Drake was nominated for a Grammy for “Best Rap Performance” for “Back to Back.”

“I feel like Sean, don’t get enough shine,” Wayne rapped on the track. “Is it because he ain’t got the tattoos?/He ain’t throwing up signs/Well, let me throw up mine.”
