CNN has issued a response to the video President Trump tweeted on Sunday [July 2] in which he uses his pummeling of Vince Mcmahon at 2007’s Wrestlemania as a representation of his contemptuous relationship with the network. The news company blasted Trump for spending more time on social media than he does on his political commitments and accuses him of inciting violence against the press.
“It is a sad day when the president of the United States encourages violence against reports,” the statement read. “Instead of preparing for his overseas trip, his first meeting with Vladimir Putin, dealing with North Korea and working on his health care bill, he is instead involved in juvenile behavior far below the dignity of his office.”
Trump’s video, in which McMahon’s image is doctored to supplant his face with the CNN logo, is only the latest in a series of bizarre antics he’s taken to over the past week on Twitter. Days ago the President thrust himself into a feud with MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski by twice demeaning her intelligence and openly recalling an incident that allegedly involved her bleeding from a facelift.
