The man alleged to have carried out a romantic relationship with Aaron Hernandez in prison is requesting to gain possession of the letter that some news reports alleged was found addressed to him in Hernandez’s cell.
Kyle Kennedy, 22, has released a statement through his lawyer in which he addresses the alleged letter with the admission that he is not certain, but does have “reason to believe it was in fact intended for him.”
“The story about who this letter was sent to has changed several times but based upon the close relationship that I had with Aaron, it is highly likely that it was in fact intended for me. I again renew my request to have the letter released to my attorney so we can put this issue to rest,” Kennedy wrote, in a letter presented to the press by attorney Larry Army Jr.
Authorities reportedly recovered three letters next to a bible in the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center cell Hernandez hanged himself in back in April. While two were widely reported to have been made out to Hernandez’s wife and daughter, the third was reported by some outlets to have been left for a man characterized as Hernandez’s secret prison lover. Hernandez’s lawyer Jose Baez would later come forth to dispute allegations that the letter was made out to anyone but the former New England Patriot’s family and Baez himself.
Kennedy has since been making noise in regards to his relationship with Hernandez. Last month, Army held a press conference on his behalf, in which he disclosed that Kennedy had been promised a $47,000 custom made watch by Hernandez.
